Intense and vanilla sweet. Floral, hints of banana, figs, rich toffee, new leather and oak.
Taste
Initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying, peppery, a touch of smoke, oak, lime, ginger and spices.
Finish
Very long, warming, dry and spicy.

No Way!
This is a chill filtered, colour added single malt. No way any 21 year old should be bottled at 40% ABV. You're about 6 or 8% shy. Weak arrival and palate. Too bad.

good but not as great at the old grand reserva 21
the older version with the darker box - the 21YO with Gran Reserva Rum Cask is substantially fuller body, and has more flavor than the new orange box one. Don't get me wrong - it is still a good scotch. But I miss the wow feeling when I first tasted the Gran Reserva 21 almost a decade ago.
