I prefer it over the needles

As a wine sales rep, I think this beats the needle system hands down. I only need to show the wine for a week or two. This uses way less gas and the wine stays fresh long enough. It pours as long as you hold the button, so it's easy to get the right amount every time. I think it's great for a restaurant's Coravin wine list, too. If you can't sell it in a couple of weeks, maybe it's not the right wine. Yeah it drips, pour with a napkin, like you would in service. Also no needles to break on a weird cork - they're expensive!

Far superior to vacuum systems!

I live alone and when I want to enjoy a nice bottle of wine I use the Pivot system to keep it fresh from the first day to the last (usually 7 days). It works just as described and is simple and very easy to use. If you've never used a wine preservation system, it's time to start. Forget vacuum systems (I've used two different ones) and the time consuming pumping. With a vacuum system, after every glass there's still more and fresh air (and oxygen) in the bottle to degrade the wine. With pivot there's nothing but inert Argon gas in the bottle. So forget vacuum and go with Pivot.
