This is the best

This is the best scotch I've ever had. I am not normally a scotch person but this was a gift and it's EXTREMELY smooth. I drank it neat and it went down easy. It's a bit pricy but any decent scotch is.

Ok Scotch; not what I expected

I like sweeter, lighter whiskeys and have to be in the mood for peat. Sampled and fell in love with Balvenie Doublewood 17yr but since that is now discontinued I decided to try the 12 yr. Nose is pleasant and sweet. Initial impression is of sweet tea, honey and vanilla but it gets spicy real quick and stays through to the palette. The finish lingers and is complex despite having light legs and being light in the body. But the finish is predominantly peaty and smoky for me. If you enjoy spicy and mildly peaty Scotch's/Whiskys(keys) with a hint of sweet then this is likely for you. Its not a bad Scotch. Its just not my type of Scotch.
