Was my favorite bourbon, once upon a time…

I used to savor the smell of the cork whenever I opened the bottle. Vanilla. Divine. The flavor and feel as I sipped was an experience. So smooth. Classic. Lovely on its own, nothing added. Then the cork became plastic. Still tasted good, but…not quite the same. Just opened a 1.75L and was basically horrified about the screw top. Zero vanilla smell. And the taste? Oh my. Metallic? NOT the same bourbon. At all. Not sippable. Stuck with a 1.75L bottle that I wouldn't dare give away. Jim would never approve. Knob Creek sucks now. Heartbreaking.
