Whiskey preference is subjective, BUT...

My whiskey preference has evolved since my earliest exposure in the 1970s. I now keep an Irish whiskey that's for me, and an Irish whiskey that's for those who chase Irish whiskey fashion or who harbor other preferences. For me, I have for years sought Knappogue 12 years old. No tasting of other, good Irish whiskey has converted me from my devotion. Yes, there are other, good Irish single malt and blended whiskeys that I've liked. But since first tasting Knappogue 12 years old decades ago I've not tasted another Irish whiskey, however different in character, that appealed to me more than the simple, malt forward character of Knappogue 12 years old.
