I love it but quality control issues

This is my go to value whiskey. It's usually great but a few years ago I got a bad batch 2 separate half gallons from the same store on different days. This week I purchased a half gallon and it has the same issue, extremely bitter and not the normal flavor. It's even too bitter when mixed with coke. Not sure if it's the whiskey itself or an issue with bottle decontaminant. Last time I emailed and they did respond but I never got a resolution. I hope it's not a reccuring issue.

I stumbled across this bourbon last Christmas. It is one of the best bourbon that I have tried especially for the price. I drink it neat. I do not even buy the Buffalo trace anymore. I love it!!!
