Don't let the packaging fool you

Don't know exactly what I was expecting, but I'm a Crown man and typically love their offerings. I haven't had many single malts that weren't a Scotch so I was excited to try this beautifully packaged addition to the Crown family... until I tasted it. Typical Crown creaminess with pronounced vanilla and banana nut undertones, but it's a rye. While not the pronounced burn of a typical rye, it's a rye nonetheless. If your palate leans toward the harsh, this may be a delight for you, but Crown missed me with this one.
