Old fashioned in a single pour!

Bulleit Bourbon has been my go to for great tasting old fashions and now I finally had a chance to try the premade old fashioned cocktail right out of a bottle. The premade cocktail is basic but that only opens you up to modify this classic cocktail to your liking. Tonight, I made mine over large cube of ice, with extra splash of orange bitters and an orange peel. Overall, great way to have a staple cocktail without the need of having bar supplies or all the ingredients.

I typically stick to the light liquor type of cocktails but gave the Bulleit Manhattan a try today. The first thing to recognize is that this is a rye whiskey. I hadn't tried a Manhattan cocktail before so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is a rye whisky version of a Manhattan cocktail . I recognized a smokey rye whiskey with a finish of bitters. I think that a regular whiskey drinker would like the flavor. I might try on ice or add some cherries for a little sweetness.
