Did this really come out of a CAN?!
From the initial pop of the can, this Archer Roose Malbec was a symphony of aromas that had me intrigued, despite my initial reluctance to drink wine poured from a can. Notes of ripe red berries, dark cherries, and plum danced with hints of vanilla and cedar. The bouquet was both intense and inviting, setting the stage for what was to be a memorable, and previously unfathomable, tasting experience. Did I say it came out of a can? The first sip was an exquisite revelation. The wine was full-bodied and lush, caressing the palate with a velvety smoothness. Its flavors were a harmonious blend of dark fruit, such as blackberry and currants, with a subtle undercurrent of black pepper and a touch of smokiness. There was absolutely no hint, whatsoever, that this was poured from a pop-top can. This Malbec had perfect balance. The acidity was just right, providing a refreshing lift to the deep, fruit-driven notes, while the tannins were finely integrated, delivering a satisfying structure without overwhelming the palate. The finish of this Malbec was nicely lingering, leaving a very pleasant aftertaste. The convenience - and freshness - of the can is amazing. I would highly recommend Archer Roose Malbec to even the snobbiest of wine snobs. It is an outstanding wine.
