The Orange Blossom
Aperol hits you like the sun breaking through your shades. Brunch starter, life starter. -Thandi
The Orange Blossom is a sun-drenched celebration in a glass—bright, lively, and effortlessly charming. Curated by Thandi Walton, this cocktail captures the essence of those golden moments: the first rays of morning, the clink of brunch glasses, and the spark of possibility that comes with every new day.
At its heart lies Blackleaf Organic Vodka, whose pure, smooth profile provides the perfect foundation to highlight the cocktail’s vibrant citrus and herbal notes. The vodka’s organic clarity lets the luscious layers of Aperol and freshly squeezed juices take center stage, creating a balanced harmony that’s both refreshing and complex.
Aperol arrives like the sun breaking through your shades—its bittersweet orange flavor mingles with the juicy brightness of orange and grapefruit juice, offering a nuanced play of sweet, tart, and slightly bitter notes. A touch of simple syrup rounds out the edges, keeping the sip smooth and approachable.
Shaken to a light froth and poured over fresh ice, the Orange Blossom is finished with a carefully expressed orange peel, releasing fragrant oils that elevate the drinking experience with a citrus perfume. Whether you’re kicking off brunch or sparking the start of something new, The Orange Blossom is your go-to. As Thandi says, it’s the perfect brunch starter, life starter—a cocktail to brighten your day and light your spirit.

Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 1½ oz. of Blackleaf Organic Vodka, ¾ oz. of Aperol, 1 oz. of freshly squeezed orange juice, 1 oz. of grapefruit juice, and ¼ oz. of simple syrup.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for about 10 to 12 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.
- Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Using a vegetable peeler or paring knife, cut a strip of orange peel, taking care to avoid the bitter white pith. Express the peel over the drink by twisting it to release the aromatic oils.
- Manicure the orange peel by trimming the edges, then place it elegantly on the rim or inside the glass as a garnish.
